Meet Zapiro

The Swedish Institute proudly presents Jonathan Shapiro, the South African cartoonist, famous as Zapiro, whose work appears in numerous South African publications and who has been widely exhibited internationally. Mr Shapiro is visiting Sweden to receive the 2016 EWK Prize awarded by the Museum of Work in Norrköping. Marika Griehsel, filmmaker and journalist based in both South Africa and Sweden, will provide an introduction and discuss press freedom and the situation for cartoonists in South Africa and the region
